Nelly and her kids are now in John's City. Finally, after about two years' wait, they have been granted their visas. First on the list is getting married, Nelly said. While preparing for it, she and John were also kept busy putting the kids to school. In an email, Nelly told me John is really protective and concerned with her kids.
I certainly hope this will continue.

Update on Nelly's Story #2
After John left, Nelly busied herself attending to the processing of their papers. Last month, she and her brood were interviewed at the American embassy. She is waiting for the 6 weeks waiting period for processing of visa.
Meanwhile, she continues dating online with John everyday. Nelly did not enroll her kids, thinking that it will just be a waste of time since they will leave in the very near future anyway.

Greek and possessive.
Meriam, a sexy and voluptuous Filipina of 41 years met her Greek husband Andy in November 2003 at Filipinaheart.com. Her niece opened an account for her and curiosity led her to check who were interested. Andy was online then and she told him she was in a hurry but if he is interested to know her, he can call her. Without wasting time, Andy called her up at the assignated time and they started phone-dating. Finally, they saw each other online a few days later. Hitting it off, they chatted happily.
One day, Andy tentatively asked Meriam if she will give him her password to her yahoo account. Without batting an eyelash, she did. Little did she know that Andy searched her mails and talked with the other male friends she had cultivated. Of course, they stopped sending her mails after meeting him.

Update on Nelly’s Story
John came to visit Nelly 3rd week of November 2007. Initially, John thought Nelly’s migration papers could be processed and they can move to the USA without him coming over to visit. Their visas were denied. There was nothing he could do but come over to visit. It was short, three days, but three full days of getting to know more of each other and make initial plans. Nelly related how she and John felt awkward upon first setting eyes on each other personally. It amazed her that this person she talked with everyday for a year now seemed like a stranger. The web camera could not take the place of the person at the other end. Both worked at breaking the ice. Nelly saw how smooth John’s dark skin is, how good he smells, contrary to what she heard of black Americans.
John’s visit finally erased whatever iota of doubt she had of his intentions with her. Tension had settled in days prior to his visit. What if he will not come to visit like the first plan? The nagging thought kept hounding her. Thus, her blood pressure went up that very afternoon of John’s first day in the country. Migraine set in and she vomited and vomited. John bought an over-the-counter medicine to ease the pain after talking with his doctor back home to ask for help. Unwittingly, Nelly made John show what he was capable of in times of emergency.
In those three days, they planned of buying a house here in the City where her parents can stay. John wanted to make their remaining years as comfortable as possible. After some initial scoping of several subdivisions, Nelly is of the mind that it is best to construct a commercial building, like an apartment, so it will not become a dead investment. John also bought her kids new pairs of school shoes. Much as the guy was very willing to spend, Nelly’s brood did not ask for more. They were sure they will depart for the USA this year. Besides, John has already been very generous with them.
Nelly also related how John had been with her relatives. He loaned her brother funds for a house. It was returned as soon as the bank loan was released. A sister-in-law also wanted to borrow a much bigger amount. John instead gave her a smaller amount without the obligation to return. Nelly is apprehensive the relatives will abuse John. John’s relatives have also contacted her. Understandably, they wanted to be assured she was not stringing John along. His twin brother could not understand the rational of traveling to the other end of the world for a woman. Nelly thought she was able to convince them she is not a bad woman. Now, they exchange emails and funny forwards.
The lawyer has informed her their migration papers are almost complete. Before the month will end, another application for their visas will start. Hopeful, Nelly looks forward to spending Christmas in USA this year. Read on....

Fiona's Hut
Separated from husband, 2 kids not living with her, unemployed
Fiona's marriage vows crumbled when the differences between her and her husband reached unscalable heights. This Filipina is in her early 30s, has borne two kids and the only girl in the brood of seven. when the heat became unbearable, she left their abode and went back to her parents. It was not difficult to be welcomed back to their house since she is her father's baby girl. The husband, after sometime, met another woman, a Filipina, too, and they cohabited in one house in the same town where Fiona is. Her family does not condemn the husband because they think Fiona is at fault. Her kids get to visit her regularly since they are close with the grandparents.
Fiona took to managing the household. And like a true Filipina, she went about her role with cool ease. Then she got to learn of the Yahoo online dating chat rooms where she met her Ahmed. A devout Muslim, Ahmed influenced Fiona in speech, dressing and non-pork diet. Overnight, Fiona started wearing an hajib, long skirts, talking softly, and prays facing Mecca.
I met Fiona at a wedding when I tagged along with a friend. It also also fell on the town fiesta date. I noticed she did not eat the pork-based food. The kids told me because it is the Ramadan. Intrigued, I surreptitiously observed her. She kept her eyes downcast, talked softly and even if it was hot inside the house, she did not dispensed with her aba. It was sweltering hot! My friend suggested we go to Fiona's nipa hut to cool off. We left for a cabana like structure in the western part of the property. We could see that two other relatives had beaten us to the hut. It was a bamboo structure open on four sides, the floor height is just right for an adult to sit down on. The gauzy curtains swayed with the afternoon wind, fanning our heated bodies. I could not contain my curiosity which was getting on overdrive mode, so I asked why it is called Fiona's hut. Everyone was just too eager to tell the story.
It seems that Fiona's Ahmed promised her he will come over for a visit. So, Fiona asked her father to build her a hut where Ahmed can laze and pray or while his time. Fiona got her hut. That was a year ago. Fiona, though, has not lost hope that Ahmed will come and marry her. They are still chat friends to this day. And like a devout Muslim, she has maintained her prayers, long skirts and hajib.
Will her fantasy become a reality?
